Venetian Plaster

So what is Venetian Plaster? These days, Venetian Plaster can refer to many of different products, formulas, and effects. Atova Venetian Plasters are typically considered as Acrylic/Organic based products that produce polished encaustic, trowel, or spatula effects. End user products such as Stucco Veneziano, Stucco Specchio and even light acrylic textures such as Muro Antico can all produce such effects.

Venetian Plaster finishes and effects Commonly known as the "spatolato" effect, the above demonstration is truly characteristic of an Italian Venetian Plaster application. With so many Venetian plasters on today's market to choose from, as well as alternate methods of application, you may find yourself asking what makes our plasters so different? Perhaps you'll find there isn't much of a difference, or perhaps the difference is in the way it's applied. Maybe the difference is in the support, information, and color tinting capability of our products. Our job is to help you decide.

We believe our formula stands out from the vast majority. We also realize, that there are many ways of applying Venetian plaster and have tested many of such methods out on our products. We've put to the test the many varieties available today.

Many manufacturers promote different techniques, which effect the way their products are sold. Some promote ease, maximum 2 coats, without sanding and even waxes as an option to polishing. These methods are fine for beginners and DIY, and such techniques are likewise compatible with our products or even the finest of plasters. However, when used for advanced applications, how they compare to the Italian manufactured products and formulas is quite different. This is where we have put many of products to the test.

Atova Venetian Plaster Designed for smooth application and ease, the Italians also address such concerns, without the cost of quality. Venetian plasters such as Othello, Campiello, and Specchio generate transition and sheen like no other. They can be applied in one, two, and even three coat applications, depending on desired effect. With very light passing of the trowel, they can be polished in 2 stokes, or even sanded with 1200 grit sandpaper for an optimum sheen. Even buffed with car buffers. Extremely hard once cured and cool to the touch, they are difficult to scratch as the surface is well compacted and slick. Overall, when sampled directly, the quality of Atova plasters is evident and we give everyone the opportunity to sample our products for less than $10.00.

Cost Effective Next, you may be thinking of cost. Which products are more, which products are less? Before comparing price, make sure that you pay close attention to the size of the can your comparing. For example, a gallon of product does not compare to a 5 liter sold by Atova. A 5 liter of product is nearly a gallon and a half, specifically 5 liters = 1.321 gallons. So consider our retail value of a 5 liter at an average of $65.00 vs. a gallon at $50.00 or $40.00. If you think about it, the prices are all quite the same.

Competitor Gallon Size Avg. Gallon Cost = $45.00

Atova Comparison Avg. 5 Liter Cost = $65.00
5 Liters = 1.321 Gallons
1 Gallon / 1.321 Gallon = 32% Difference
Atova 5 Liter = $65.00 - 32% = $44.20

Atova products are reasonably priced. Considering their journey to this country, their necessary technical support, professional grade, standard and market application rates, Atova does it's best to satisfy it's customers and create fair and reasonable pricing, especially for volume sales and it's certified community.
